Hi, I’m James, and I’m glad you stopped by my small corner of the internet. This space serves as an ongoing record of the things I care about, the projects I’m working on, and the aspects of my life that I enjoy sharing. I’m forty-three years old and living in the Tampa area of Florida with my wife, Anneke, whose name is pronounced like Monica but with an Ahn instead of Mon. We’ve been married for seven years, and in that time our family has grown into a lively group with three young children who fill our days with more joy, chaos, and purpose than we ever could have planned for.

Jack is four, full of imagination, and already trying to figure out how everything in the house works. Hank is three, determined to keep up with his older brother, and brings a surprising amount of comedic timing for someone so young. Rosie joined us in February, and although she’s still tiny, she has already reshaped our routines, making each day feel fuller and more meaningful. Our home also features two pets who bring a unique energy to the space in their own ways. Rosco, our Boston Terrier, behaves as if he has been promoted to middle management, and Beasley Gene, our cat, behaves as if she owns the company outright.
Anneke is originally from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, which means she brings a little of the mountain West into everything she does. Meanwhile, I was born in Dade City, Florida, about thirty miles north of Tampa, which means I have never lived far from warm weather and thunderstorms. Professionally, I lead a team of systems engineers and have spent over two decades working across the technology landscape. I’ve always enjoyed the puzzle of infrastructure, whether it involves storage, virtualization, networks, applications, SaaS platforms, or anything else that hums, spins, transmits, or relies on electricity to come alive. There is something satisfying about solving problems that help people do their work more easily and with fewer interruptions, and that satisfaction has kept me grounded in this field for a long time.
Outside of work, my time is a mix of reading, writing, and being with my family, which is the part of life that matters most to me. I enjoy taking on small projects around the house, learning new things, and finding ways to grow as a husband, father, friend, and believer. Community service is also important to me, and I try to make time for it whenever possible, because giving back feels like one of the most rewarding uses of a person’s time.
This site, JamesGamble.net, serves as a central place for updates on what I’m learning, creating, and thinking about. I’ll share projects, reflections, and anything else that seems worth capturing. If anything here resonates with you and you’d like to connect or collaborate, I’d be glad to hear from you. Thank you again for visiting, and I hope your time here is worthwhile.
