Dear Mr. Mann – JanSport

Posted on May 9, 2025 by

Dear JanSport,

I just wanted to say thanks, but also maybe call you out a little. You’ve triggered something deep inside me. Something Navy Blue.

It all started when I bought your Big Student backpack in Navy Blue. I didn’t expect to fall in love. But I did. Hard. I carried it once, and suddenly nothing else in my life matched. I had to fix that. So I bought the matching Navy Blue lunchbox like some kind of color-coordinated superhero. And I haven’t looked back since.

I use both every single day. For the past five months, they’ve been with me through work, trips, chaos, snacks, spills, and one wild afternoon where a yogurt exploded in a meeting room. They’re still looking good. Like, better-than-a-CyberTruck-after-a-softball good. Actually, better than that truck ever looked in the first place.

So, thank you. Seriously. Your stuff holds up. It looks good. And it feeds my very real need to make everything in my life one perfect shade of Navy Blue.

If you ever stop making this color, I will lose my mind in a very dramatic fashion and write you again. Probably while wearing a Navy Blue hoodie.

All zipped up,

James Gamble
